Happy Birthday to my Nicky!

Today is Nick's Birthday. I just got done making him breakfast. I made his favorite sausage and eggs to go. He was running a little late. I have two clients, and then I am going to come back home and start my brisket on to cook. It should take about 4 to 5 hours. So it should be done at the perfect time to eat dinner. We are having some of my family over to "make the snakes" for his birthday night. That's why I decided on a brisket, jalepeno bean, Ginger Snap Sweet potatoes, I had wanted to make on Christmas. We just had so much other stuff, I just didn't think we needed it.

Now, back to these snakes. Nick's family has a tradition of making the SECRET family recipe Creme Rolls at Christmas time. I have heard so much about them from everyone. I couldn't even see them be made before we were married! It's a BIG deal.
Nick and I planned on making them for his birthday and taking them to family, friends at church, and our neighbors. I thought they can't be that hard... anything tastes good with four sticks of butter! Nick's told me they are really worth a tummy ache. If i et a whole one I would be on the floor crying. I have become more and more sensitive over time. There is 48 oz of HEAVY CREAM! YIKES
Well, Nick copied down the recipe, and we got to it kinda late last night, because we were still picking up from all the company. Let's just say it all went good till I look back and Nick has put all the dough and liquids in the mixer at once and it is way to much! He turned it on and butter and yeast was flying out everywhere!!!! All you could do was laugh! Way to break in the mixer. Your suppose to make a mess with that thing!!!! We still managed to mix it somehow, and we will see if it turns out at all!
I grocery shopped for 2 hours yesterday. I went to wal-mart which is brave I know. I was just going to save so much money. The Sparkling Cider where I normally go is $6.39 and at Walt-mart it was $2.02. THAT IS CRAZY! All in all, I know I saved lots of money, and my patience was tested. I am proud to say I made an A. It was freezing yesterday as well. The loading all the bags wasn't fun in 23 degree weather with blowing wind that cuts right through your bones! I made it home still alive!!! With all of this....

Last i leave you with this. I am the most blessed woman in the world to have the Husband that I do. Who's good traits are too many to list. He loves me and cares for me so deeply. We have had fun getting to know either one more over the last few months. I think he is starting to think my Dad was right! I am hard to live with, and I am spoiled. I think he still loves me though! He makes me smile when I wake up and every night before bed. I cannot wait for many more days and years of happiness with him. He is my rock! He keeps me grounded. I think to myself everyday, I hope that I give my Nicky everything he needs. I hope that I am everything he has ever wanted. In our relationship I would say exactly what I wanted, but he would just let me be me. I know he fell for the 'me' I was, and I hope he fall more deeply in love with her as the days go by. I am thankful to Nick's Mom and Dad, as well as his family for bringing him up to be exactly what he is today. He has two really great role models of how to be a man, husband, and father, thanks to Brandon and Zach. He also has a really great friend who is always there for him because of Annie. That is a part of what makes him who he is. I am thankful for all of you!

I love you, I hope you have a PERFECT DAY!

We are Darn Cute Elves!

Send your own ElfYourself eCards

Thankful Thursday on Friday

1. The Christmas Season. I love everything about it. The music, the lights, the parties, the families coming together, and gifts (giving them of course) the snow (if you have it) the treats, all the other food, the fireplace flaming, Christmas movies, SANTA, and so much more. Most of all the celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!

2. My wonderful husband. We have had so much fun this last week, just being together. We haven't got a lot done like we needed to. All the alone time was needed and it has been really great. Nick is so ambitious. He works a full time job, and does thirty other things on the side. He can do circles around me. We sleep in our bed with three other annoying people. They are named Utah phone, Texas phone, and Work phone! It's lots of fun!!!

3. We are having my Salons Christmas Party tomorrow night! I am very excited. I love to get dressed up, and just make it a really special fun time! I am having it at our house, because not everyone has seen it. I am going to cook a new meal I have never made. Wish me LUCK! Then, we are going to hang out and do a gift exchange and games!

4. I have all gifts bought, wrapped, and shipped. That feels good!

5. My peanut brittle I said wasn't all that good, well I have put a pretty good dent in it. It must not be that bad!

6. Nick is teasing me with the baby POWERS, but at least he is considering! Two of my friends are having babies this week!

DID I MENTION I LOVE CHRISTMAS and I am THANKFUL for my family!

BLOG BOOK

So I have officially been blogging for one year now!!!! Can't believe it time flies! I went to try to find out how to make the book of it, and how much it would cost. The blurb site is down for Blogger slurping. They have no idea when the problem will be fixed, and I am so sad! I was really looking forward to working on that. Have my first real ONLINE Journal in my hand. I guess I will wait patiently.
I heard there is a new one coming out we will see how that works!

Weimeraner Puppies

I got a call from my Uncle Last night. He said that a lady from the Hospital's son is coming into town at Christmas with little Weimy puppies! He has males and females!!!
Nick and I have been thinking of one for a while, but just haven't completely decided. I just kinda thought it was a sign! So we will see.. He said he is still thinking..
The guy gets here on Nick's Birthday! How perfect is that!!! We might be parents for the first time to a grey BABY. Se how precious they are!!!

Santa's Little Helper!

Last night I was busy making my favorite treats of the holiday time!!! FUN STUFF. I went to the grocery store not knowing what I was going to make... NOT a good idea. I bought tons of unnecessary things. But I settled on
Old Fashion Peanut Brittle
Sweet and Salty Haystacks
Heath Bar Nut Clusters
and
Thumb Print Sugar Cookies
I bought because I just can't out do them!
Nick approved he said the the CHOCOLATES were a 10. He knows chocolate! I am not a huge fan.
The Peanut Brittle my favorite.. and I have done better.... You really have to learn your microwave, because I do the MICRO Brittle. It's easy to make it, but hard to master... I had it down at my mom's house. I'm just not quite perfect at our new house. I needed to make like three batches and I just didn't want that much, because I WOULD EAT IT ALL!!! It's the Holidays Splurge GO ahead, But you will puke if you eat 3 batches of brittle. I am out of control with that stuff!

The canisters I got at Big Lots for 99 cents!

The Doty Wedding

This weekend was Tim and Amber Doty's wedding. He played baseball at K-State with Nick. They live in Oklahoma City Edmond Area. Many of the guys Nick played with and their wives were there. I was a be to get to know some of them better. I have heard many storied of all of them. It was good to put a name to a face! After the wedding reception. We went to Dinner with Matt and Nikki. It was lots of fun. We went to BRAVO Italian Cucina. I didn't really like what I ordered, but the salad and bread was delicious! We changed and met up with everyone at the Fox and the Hound. We told stories, laughed, and played a mean game of checkers! GOOD TIMES!

Nick and one of the twins. He lives in the Dallas, Area with his wife Tara.
Chad from Kansas City, and I am terrible... can't remember her name.
This is NICK and NICK. He is Nick Selfo. But we really call him CRAZY. It's ironic because he isn't crazy at all. He is the nicest most polite guy in the world! I really enjoyed him. Nick is in his wedding in May. We get to go down to Louisiana. I can't wait. His fiance wasn't able to make it this weekend. She must be great. I am excited to meet her!
US of course!
Matt and Nikki they live in Southlake. I had spent time with Matt a few times, but I finally got to meet Nikki and that was SUPER FUN! We are going to make a visit to them in March hopefully.
Not the best picture, but this was EVERYONE!
I was really bad and didn't take any at the wedding while we were all dresses up BUMMER. I don't even have one of the bride and groom. But that just means I cant wear that dresses again soon! :o)

Thankful Thursday

I am most thankful for my husband who makes me laugh. It is really fun, even though sometimes I don't feel like laughing. I still want to it is sure lightens the mood!

I am thankful for the Christmas Holiday and what it means to each of us that know our SAVIOR. I love that you are able to share that more in this time of the Season. I hope it radiates off my face.

I am thankful that we are close to done getting the house ready for having everyone over Christmas Day. We already have our puzzle to do and everything.

I am glad we are getting to go to Oklahoma City this weekend. We are going to one of Nick's buddies from college's wedding. I can't wait to meet all the K-State guys, I only know a few of them. I know it will be lots of fun! Hope to have safe travels. It is so fun to be in the car with Nick. We just laugh A LOT!

I am thankful for the weather this week it has really felt like Christmas!!!! I LOVE IT
