Memories with my Mom this YEAR!

The first weekend Nick came to Lubbock.

St. Patty's Day. I had green hair of course!

Dinner one night in the spring, just for fun!

Riviera Maya, Mexico early in the summer!

My cousin, with my Mom and Dad. They were in town from Denver. My uncle Paul, Aunt Sharen, Faith, Brandon, and little Noah.

A day in the sun at Lake Alan Henry. One of our very favorite things.
Yea, that is my mom darker than me. She can get so tan.

More family. Mom, Nan (Mom's mom), My Great Grandma who will be 95 in a few weeks. Also my grandma's sister Aunt Ally.

Cattle Baron's Ball. VERY HOT that night, but so much fun! Glad my parents let me tag along. I have always wanted to go ever since I was a kid and my parents would go. Then when I got old enough I would babysit for people that were going to it. So after all the waiting this was my 1st year to attend!

Fourth of July! I was a little sad I was suppose to be in Utah that day. I made the best out of it and it was a fun day!

And the reason why we stayed. My Grandaddy passed away. We all miss him.... But that day was a celebration!

Towards the end of summer my family wanted to show Nick something beautiful in Texas. We decided to take him to Palo Duro Canyon to see the musical TEXAS. He was accompanied by three wonderful women that night. Both my parents mom's are now widowed. He did a wonderful job. I had to beat them off at the end of the night!

My Dad's suprise 50th Birthday!

This Thanksgiving Mom, Dad, Matt, and I for the first time in quite a few years took a road trip to our house in Pagosa Springs, CO. We use to go for every holiday when I was younger. Then when Matt got into High School basketball, he never could go with us. I wouls take a friend of something. It was really great to have us all there together as a family. I know it meant a lot to my parents.

Here they are at the Kadiza Hair Studio Christmas Party.

What a year! So many great memories. It is not too hard to swallow being another year older when you think about how great it was!
My mom is very special to me. I'm glad that we have got to spend so much time together lately.
I am blessed to have a Mom that is so beautiful, and loves me so much!

My Mom's Birthday

Tommorrow is my mom's birthday. She has been asking me for quite some time to get our picture taken. My parents remodeled their bedroom last year. We worked really had to get a more modern feel. A clean fresh simple feel. My mom would always say, "I like the way you house feels. How could we incorporate that into our house?" So that is exsactly what we did with their bedroom. It tured out so well. My mom absolutley loves it. I do too! There was only one thing that was not complete. The only picture frames in the whole room were one over my Dad's nightstand and one over my Mom's. She wanted to put a picture of Matt in one and Me in the other. So, sadly all of this time goes by and those to frames are hanging with the original things that came in them. Needless to say she will be very happy to finally have the pictures in them that she imagined. The room is chocolate brown and aqua. The "spa feeling" that she wanted. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Hope she likes them.

Oh yea I almost forgot. This is my BIG brother. Yea, and emphasis on BIG. He is almost a foot taller than me, and for those of you that know, I am pretty tall for a girl. He measures in at a little over 6"7. I am 5"8, and do not want to be any taller. I was always scared when I was younger, thinking that I might not stop growing. It seemed like he never would. Matt is 18 months older than me, and he is my only sibling. He is also living with me right now until he graduates from college in May. We are so OPPOSITE....

He is kinda quiet, and obviously I am not.

He likes to stay at home, and I like to see people.

He is very good at math, and I was horrible at it.

He was a great basketball player (he played in college), I on the other hand fouled out in the first half (a little too agressive).

He is very compassionate, and I am not.(I'm working on it!)

I would walk into a room of strangers and be friends with them when I left. If you could even get him to go than, he would wait for someone to talk to him, and then answer with one word.

I like to take risks, he would always do it the sure way.

I would jump out of a plane (oh, acctually i DID!), he would wet his pants before he would get on a baby rollercoaster.

He is extremely sarcastic and humorous, all I can do is make myself laugh.

He can always make fun of me somehow, and i never have a comeback.

He always said I was the smartest by far, and he is the one going to graduate from college. YEA!

He is very musically talented, I cannot clap my hands and stay on beat.

He also would spend all day trying to teach me, and I could care less!

I am someone to make my mind up to do something and cannot rest till it's done, and he would wait till the very last minute.

He can watch a movie once and remember every funny line in it. I would stand up in front of everyone to tell them the funny line and realize i couldnt remember how it went at all. He would always finish it for me, and make me freel really dumb for opening my mouth after that. In a loving way! ;O)

I love to travel and see new things, he would just rather me bring home the pictures and he will edit them and make me something cool!

He is amazing at anything electronic or computer related, and I just get flustered and give up!

When we were young we would have coloring contests. He woul have it colored perfectly in the lines, and mine would we decorated on with multi color stripes and polka dots. Mom would never pick a winner she would always say, "Yall both win! I can't pick, the each of yours are so different!" We HATED that!
I like sweets, he does't. (maybe that is why we probably weight the same, and he is a foot taller!)
He loves milk, not only do I hate the taste of it, but I cannot drink it because I am lactose intolorant.
He could eat pizza every meal of everyday for his whole life. I never wanted it.
He likes chocolate, and I like sweettarts.
The list of how different we are could go on and on forever.

But what I really like about him is his quiet spirit. I wish I could be as good of listener as he is.
By the way, we do have a couple things in common....

We both have CURLY HAIR, and we LOVE eachother a lot!

Thank you for being a great brother! I love you Matty!

HUGE UPDATE!!!!!

Well welcome home to me! i have been soo incredibly busy since i got back... i have just got my pictures sorted through, unpacked, and really just got my life all back in order. that is always a good thing~so to start off i for sure had a white christmas.... Utah had lots and lots of snow so it seemed like your perfect dream christmas. OK no maybe it was because i was with my wonderful man! we planned to get up early and so skiiing, but we decided not to. instead, we woke up and saw what santa brought. Lets just say.... santa was REALLY good to me this year! it was so fun!

OKAY it was really early. The first one is me with my gifts santa brought to send all my family on christmas. Then my mom wanted one of Nick and I and we sent the second one. She didnt like it! ;o( But hey, like we could be serious! It was suck a fun morning. we didnt think we were going to be there so without even thinking about it we changed our plans. then we realized we had no food, and it was Christmas day! so we drove around to like 5 stores and we acctually found one. we got lucky! I made spagetti with turkey meatballs. Sounds pretty christmas to me! okay maybe not, but i did make Nick some fudge that day!

Then two days after christmas we had alot of Nicks family over for the actual christmas meal... That was kinda exciting for me because i havent ever done it before.. Ok acctually i was a little nervous, because i wanted it to turn out perfect. I wanted everyone to like it... and i wasnt sure because i'm sure there a lot of things my family does alot different than his family. It all turned out as planned though, thanks to a little help from his mom. Also, everyone seemed to like it. There was a ton of food. One thing i did realize is that Nicks family doesn't eat nearly as much as mine does ;o) But good thing he fits in my family too! I mean it only comes once a year, why not make yourself sick. So Nick took all the left overs we had to his dad. I hope he was able to finish them off!

NEW YORK ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then we left for new york. It took awile to get there but it was well worth the wait. The hotel i picked, after all of the worrying, was perfect. Great location and very nice. That night we went to the Giants and Pats WORLD RECORD game! Every girl i tell keeps asking if i could see TOM BRADY well from the 17th row? I just answer with, well i could see that he was "knock kneed" (i think i might just be a little partial to baseball players!) ;o) Then every man says oh wow that would be really exciting to see the Record setting game. That must have been a thrill. It was i was more thrilled to be there with Nick. Just trying to block out all of the foul language that was being screamed in my ear. Nick would whisper something in my ear every once in a while that made it all better!

The second day was Central Park. It was so beautiful there, even in the middle of the winter. Nick and i walked through probably about three quarters of it. We sat on a bench for a while and just watched people. I could probably do that all day long! We walked to see St. Patricks Cathedral. It was amazing. we saw the big tree and walked by Radio City. Then we just walked around and looked in stores and at different hotels and buildings.

That night we went to see GREASE. It was a good show. Not sure why it would be so hard to hi-light your hair is you were going to be Sandra D. Yea, you heard right. She had brown hair. That being what i notice all the time anyway, it almost ruined it for me. It was still good though. I suggest just renting the movie tho! I guess i liked John Travolta more than i realized! After the show we went and ate at my favorite resturant of the whole trip! It was the most incredible pasta i have ever eate. It was the House Specialty that night, so who knows if they even have it regularly. It was a spinach fettichini topped with cherry tomatoes, artichokes, and grilled chicken, with a garlic and olive oil sauce. UNREAL! I could eat that everyday for the rest of my life.

Cont.

The third day was NEW YEARS EVE. Nick was such a trooper he took me to my very favorite store in the world. Its all of three stories usually. Needless to say thats not an in and out stop. I ushually get to go to one about once a year, and i would say probably half my clothes are from there. i LIKE H&M. Nick found a bench and say take all the time you need babe. wE have all day. Dont be in a hurry at all. I can just hang out here hold you coat scarf and purse, and you can just do your thing. YES.... I KNOW KEEP HIM! i looked all around, tried everthing on i liked. I ended up with three black skirts and a pair of black skinny pants. One was on clearance for 10 bucks. All i can say is i know what i like, and i pretty much buy only things that i know i can wear all the time and doesnt really go out of style. Nick was like really four things????? you have been talking about this for all the time... are you sure thats all you want. I said YEP thats all i need. I was happy. The rest of that day we walked around looking at all kinds of places. we walked all over everywhere. then we walked back to our hotel through Times Square, and it was already Chaotic! people pushing and shoving you couldnt move but about one step per thirty seconds. I was sooo glad we werent going to be there all day and night in that mess. It was scary almost! i was so afraid i was going to loose nick's hand and i would never find him!

Nine that night we boarded the Circle Line along 248 other people for our new years evening! We stood in line for like a half hour and we froze. we weren't dressed for outside. the boat had dinner and dessert. along with a dj, so you could dance the night away. we were way to busy taking pictures of the Manhattan skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty all lit up at night. It was soo neat. Just the perfect night. Ill post some of Nicks work. i was not it charge of photography that night, well i shouldnt ever really be. Nick can work my new camera alot better than me. But that night i was afraid of dropping it in the water. That is about my luck! I HAD the BEST NEW YEARS KISS OF ALL TIME! iT was very fun!

Nick is really excited about 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!
New years day... was the only day that really lived like a real new yorker! We slept it had breakfast in bed and watched Football ALL DAY! We did eat a late lunch with Nicks friend Brad, that he played with at k state. we made sure it was a place that would have the TECH bowl game on. We found one. We ate and wnet back to the hotel and watched some more. He said THAT was a perfect day!

The following day we got up super early to go down to see ground zero. I dont have a picture if that one they had it all blocked off they are beginning construction. Then we went to century21 so we could say we got a designer bargain!. i found a juicy dress and nick got a couple of new jeans. it was almost a department store of TJ maxx. You can imagine how that could be a bit of sensory overload. After we left we went to Chinatown to make a few illegal purchases! that was fun. thrilling to say the least. all but the smell of fish that was all over!!!EWWEEEE i wont forget that. Right about when i thought i was going to throw up. Nick looked back and said, "that looks awesome, yum" and he was serious. i almot lost it! ;0)

That night we ate at Tao. It was super nice. they had a 16 foot statue of buddah when you walk in. CRAZY. i am very sure that the picture doesnt do it and justice. I ate raw fish and didnt think it was bad at all. (first) Nick got a wasabi crusted filet, which i just thought was ingenious!the food was great and the company was even better!

After Dinner we went to see Hairspray. It is worth going all the way to new york JUST FOR THIS! oh man the characters, costumes, settings out of this world. Norm from Cheers played the mom. We were rolling to whole time. It put the movie completeley to shame! it was the most entertaining musical of all
time! Absolutley perfect. By the end you were stood up singing and dancing! Im a huge fan! i recomend it to anyone any age! you cant help but love it!

The trip was PERFECT! The best part of it was i didnt worry about one thing the whole time. Nick looked at the map and always knew where we were. Had a plan to where we were going to get to see everything that we wanted to. I would just say hey i want to go there... and he would get us right to it. I love him for that! He is the Best! SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO FINISH THIS!
