Thai Turkey Burgers

Thai Turkey Burgers

1 (28.8-ounce) package ground turkey
1 1/2 teaspoons lime zest
1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon TABASCO® brand Green Jalapeño Pepper Sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
6 scallions, chopped
6 hamburger rolls
1 small cucumber, sliced thin

In a medium bowl, combine turkey, zest, lime juice, TABASCO^® Green Sauce, soy sauce, 1/4 cup cilantro and the scallions. Mix well and form into 6 patties.

Grill or broil burgers about 8 minutes per side or until cooked through. Place on rolls and top with cucumber slices and remaining cilantro.

I just got the Ensign today in the mail. Which is a church magazine that comes out every month. Leaders of our church share articles on many different spiritual matters. I really enjoy reading it, and always get a lot out of it. One of the ones I read tonight was on the use of the blogs and that we can share our faith with our readers.

It is hard to know who all reads your blog. I have a reader that shows me from what city I might be getting a visitor from. I am acctually suprised by the number or readers a day. I feel that for that and many other reasons I need to share my thoughts, and declare that I am a child of God! That's a song we sing every Sunday almost with the little kiddos.

I know that I am a daughter to the King of Kings, the Lord of all Lords, the Beggining and End. I know that He loves me so deeply I cannot begin to comprehend. I know that I do nothing to deserve that gift, and it is given freely with no end. I am so thankful for that. I know that He is always there for each one of his children. He will never leave me or forsake me. I feel that He always hears our prayers, and will always answer them when we wait patiently and quietly. He sometimes uses a gentle voice or prompting. When we soften our hearts, and let the Holy spirit guide us, our paths are directed so clearly. I am thankful that my Heavenly Father is full of forgiveness. I fail him so often. He scoops me up in Thy hand and sets me on my feet again, as I strive to walk the narrow path again. I am so grateful for repentance and the new day of sunshine it may bring to my life. I am so very greatful for my Redeemer. That he died for all of mankind.

That he lives.

The best chinese.... I have to go everytime we are near. Nick took me there on one of our first dates!

We were in the neighborhood visiting family and friends to I had to snap a few. Nick's HS Highland. He just had his 10 yr... But it wasn't THAT long ago he was playing on that field.

We went to my favorite breakfast place.. The German pancakes are out of this world!!!! They call it the dutch baby. You eat half of it and you feel like you are about to burst!

We spent a sweet day in Park City together, and went to Dinner with his dad.

Yes those were some crazy girls dressed up dancing for donations! It was hilarious!

And last but not least all the food... Nick always makes fun of me for taking pics of! I like it!

I have spent hours and hours reading tutorials and stalking blogs to get to this point... I mean lots of time... Poor Nicky... At least it's football season.... And we have the laptop!!! That is quality time right!!! It is lots of fun!!! Nick has actually been so supportive... He knows it has been a goal of mine for a LONG time.. He is my biggest cheerleader. He is always bragging on me.. That's how it came about doing some pics of our family. It was not nearly as much fun doing it for someone's special day other than our own, because I felt pressured to catch great shots. I am not a professional, and don't plan on being one.

I do it for fun.

I do it because it a creative hobby.

You want to talk hair... I can do it all day, and know I can give you your money's worth. I am trained and well practiced 7 years! OUCH I feel confident I can please the most difficult clients around... I have plenty of them.

So with that being said, I am not starting another business.

After going to bed a 2am last night. I DONT want to be a photographer.

At least the Salon has store hours, and the the computer doesn't. It was a long day on the feet to say the least. Plus we started the diet again, we are on Day 6.

I worked out last night and was sore by the time I got home. I have a lot going for me.

I should end this... It was about saying THANK YOU.

We came to visit family and be a part of the Sealing of Nick's Uncle Scott and Aunt Corrie, to their two children Macy and Jaxton that were apodted from Ethiopia... We are so excited to be here, and be able to share this amazing times in life with them.

This is going to be my first time to see a sealing including children. I know it will be amazing. It is just a wonderful blessing, that members of the Church get to experience. I am so happy for them. We have got to meet the new little members to the family since being here, and they are just PRECIOUS! I have a HUGE love for that chocolate skin... I can't stop hugging them! I want to take them home with me already!!!!

Last night Nick had the reunion softball game with all his HS buddies.... I told him that he needed to hit me a homerun... HE said I already have the ultimate homerun!!! He is such a romantic! ;O) They won by a ton because they had my super star!!! After the game I got to witness the FAMOUS ICEBERG milkshake!

I must say there is not a more beautiful place I have been in the fall. Yesterday, we were in Park City at the you know where.... (Outlets... shhh!) The weather was PERFECT! Breezy and beautiful! Sun shining through the mountain tops... It is just so relaxing...

We went and ate at our FAV chinese place in Park City, and as usual was such a delight! General Tao's and Pork Lo Mein. Don't forget.. Steamed dumplings to start out. It is called Sechwan... I am sure I murdered that spelling.

Just being at all the places here, the smells, the veiws....

They all kinda give me butterflies in my tummy....

For that I will always feel at HOME!

Funny story...

Nick and I both had come from bad relationships when we started dating....

We were both very hesitant to let ourselves fall in love, and get hurt most of all.

We had known each other since I was 12 and he was 18... but it didn't really matter. We both had issues trusting another person, and even trusting ourselves about how we feel towards another.

We knew that deep down one another were great people, and had been all those years.. but it was still tough. It was tough to put yourself out there, even if it would end up that we were perfect for each other.

We had this ideal picture in our minds of what we wanted our marriages to be like... We were going to be sure that we had that for the rest of our lives, if we made such a commitment.

We hit things off in the beginning like we had known each other for years and years... OH WAIT we had. Try 9.

One day, after only dating a few months, we were diving through the Canyons when I was up visiting. We were talking about our future and our feelings towards one another. We had so much to work out ...

Location... He was building homes up there, and I owned a salon here

Religion ... I grew up Baptist, and he was a CRAZY Mormon

Timing... Both were scared to death about getting serious with someone

It seemed as if nothing was working in our favor.

But we were falling hard, and knew it. We could feel it happening.

The subject of marriage came up.

I was telling him about all the people I knew getting married 7.7.07 THAT WAS THE DATE FOR WEDDINS!!! You all remember...

We then were discussing what we wanted it to be like. We shared both the fear of failure in marriages these days, and how we never wanted that to be us. That we would be married for the rest of our lives so we better choose wisely!

I remember Nick saying, "I think we should at least date for 3 years before thinking of marriage. I totally agreed! I said, " I have done the whole when you know you know... and was WRONG !!!! ( I had been engaged, and broke it off) I thought it would at least take that long for me to prove to myself that I trusted my instincts again.

So he then said jokingly... "If you get lucky... Maybe I can figure my crap out, and we can get married 9.9.Oniner!!!!!" Just like that!

I woke up this morning thinking about it... So I told Nick... Aren't you glad we didn't wait till YOU were READY to get married.... It would have been today! ;o)

We sure have had such a great time being together this last year +++

We would have missed out on some great times!!!

I love you honey.... Thank you for picking me to be the lucky woman that gets to be by your side through out Eternity!

The big diet!!!!

Black tea or coffee sweetened with Stevia and a tablespoon of skim milk if you like...

(try the flavored stevias!!!! YUMMM) I have a Cinnamon herbal tea I put the vanilla cream stevia in. It's awesome...

Snack:

Apple. Orange. 1/2 Grapefruit. or 6 Strawberries.... ONe of these~!

LUNCH:

1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following:spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

Snack:

One fruit of your choice again.

What a way to kick off the season with a bang! Worked all day because it was a six PM game.

Made it up to the suite just in time for the game to start!!!! It wasn't the most exciting game. Tech killed North Dakota.

Company was great. Keenan and Corrie were there, and I really love spending time with them.

It was the first time that we have ate junk since being on the diet, and WOW we were almost sick as dogs!!

After the game we all went to Ruby's, and continued the party... Best part about it is....

We don't have church until 12 NOON.

So we slept in!!!!

Totally looking forward to fasting too... (I mean that for once)

On another note.... We are all OVERJOYED at the more exciting victory!!!!

OU loosing to the BYU Cougars. We totally loved that!!! LOVED IT!

ARROGANCE LEADS TO DEFEAT~ HA that was by far the best game of the night.

We have to get Kim a BYU hat to wear home today! That will be awesome for all of his neighbors to see!

My first homemade pie

Rhubarb pie has been my favorite for years. As a kid growing up I ate anything that was sour, so of course I loved that pie.

My grandmother has made it ever since I can remember...

I ordered some fresh rhubarb and some other fruit from this company from Oregon. It came in on Saturday.

We had my grandmother come over to teach me all her tricks. They turned out really tastey!!!

I made one with Splenda so it was sugar free, and did a crumble crust. Then the other was good old fashion HEAVEN!

They are already gone...

Less than 24 hours! At least one was guiltless! (We did share with family last night)

It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I didn't get much of anything done yesterday. Searched high an low for a new pair of jeans I liked. I had no luck! I hate that when you don't need anything new you find tons, and you have to tell yourself no. Then when you need something, you can't find anything worth even settling on.

It was my sweet friend Anna's birthday. I look her flowers. I went to the store and bought the stuff to learn how to make my first pie this weekend. NICK LOVES PIE. My grandmother makes the best rhubarb pie. I could sit and eat the whole thing. We ordered some fresh rhubarb through this company at church. It finally comes in on Saturday.

Sunday afternoon we are going to have Grandmother over to bake the first pie! Hope it is just as good, even out of my oven....

West TX Sunset

So this weekend we were here...

We went out for the night. It is the place to be on a Saturday night in West Texas!!!!

Let me tell you...

It was pouring rain when we pulled up. My family was out on the lake, so Nick and I enjoyed the sound of the rain on the roof! The rain smelled wonderful out there.

About time they pulled back in with the boat we looked one way and saw this...

A beautiful full rainbow. We got everyone dried off and changed into nice warm clothes. I finish getting all my dinner cooked. I made roasted red potatoes, steamed asparagus, garlic bread, and fruit salad for dessert. Meanwhile, the men started smoking the beef tenderloin. ( MY FAV)

They called me out and said, "Hey Nat, You might want to grab your camera and take some pics of the sunset!" It was absolutely breathtaking. We actually do have something beautiful here!!! SEE NICK, it's not all bad. He says the only thing beautiful at all about West Tx is his wife.... I BEG TO DIFFER!!!! I had fun with these!

Oh by the way if you didn't realize. Brazos Beach Club is the name of my parents lake house.

WE LOVE IT THERE! Always a fun time with family!

The steaks turned out perfect, and the company was even better.

We missed Mom, she went and had girls weekend. It was Dad, Grandmother, Matt, Edite, and us.

Nick loved his big truck, but it just wasn't all that practical. We decided since we bought the Jeep back from Utah that he could drive it for a while. He works from home, so he doesn't really drive that much at all. Up to the salon, and to the golf course is about it...

So we Sold the truck. I know he will miss it, but we had to park it in the feild next to our house. We had to go park it under a bank's drive through if there was any kind of storm, so it didn't get hail damages. It was just lots of work.

I still didn't think he would pass it away to anyone. . .

He did.

We sold it on EBAY. A guy flew in thursday from Iowa and picked it up, and drove home.

I kept asking Nick if he liked him, and thought he would take good care of it???... If he would love it as much as he did???...

And he said, Natalie it is just a vehicle...

I would respond... yes, that YOU WERE in LOVE with.

We love the Jeep though, and it will be fun for now!

Hope you like your new home in IOWA! We will have another like you someday...

Nick and I decided the last night of our diet we would eat there and try it out. There isn't a good sushi place anywhere in town. I had a client recommend it that had sashimi there. (BONUS: She was asian!!)

The verdict.........

IT WAS AWESOME! We loved it. WE got the Deluxe Sashimi Platter that had about 6 types of fish on it, and every single one was delicious!

All of our weight lost was due for a celebration!!!

Together Nick and I lost 35 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's like Biggest LOSER!!!!!!!!!

I like the total together better it's more extreme!!!! But it breaks down as follows. Nick= 21 Me=14

I am so proud of him! He is at ball playing weight, and looks FABULOUS! As for me, haven't seen numbers on the scale like this since I was 17! REALLY FUN!

Family Night

Saturday night we had family light at the park. All summer here in Lubbock they have had the Buddy Holly Story at the outdoor amphitheater. We kept trying to pick a weekend that everyone could go. We did pretty good, we probably had 20 people go.

Everyone brought a picnic of choice. Since we were on the diet, we ate before we went, and watched everyone else eat all their yummy snacks! It wasn't too bad we sat in the very front so we couldn't see it all!

The production was awesome. They guy who played Buddy was from London. He was really truly amazing how he did the West Texas accent the whole time. It was very entertaining. We had so much fun! It was a perfect night!

There was a little feather on the tile right outside the office. I thought to myself, "Hmm, where would that come from?" Looked a little further....

I saw a few more...

They led me to the spare bedroom where I saw 1,000,000,000,000,000 other feathers.

The pups like to lay on that bed for some reason... Oh maybe it's because when Grandma Wendy came and stayed with us they got to sleep in it every night. They are very loved. Well, they got bored yesterday...

Nick and I had been working in the office, and they had been in here with us for about an hour. Then I guess they went and laid on their "bed".

They decided that one of the throw pillows on the bed tasted good. REALLY GOOD!

WHAT A DISASTER!!! It was a small pillow. How in the world could all those feathers come out and it still be half full???? We had already let them out thirty minutes before we saw any of this. You couldn't really punish them at that point. They would not have even known what they did wrong.

That was fun to clean up! NOT.

We still love you guys, and promise not to ignore you again.

The Drive Home! (with the new baby)

We stopped a few times early on just to make sure she was holding on tight!!! Everything was good we made it home in 14 hours... not to bad with all of our potty breaks we did.

It's lots of fun riding in the car with my husband!!! I really enjoy the time I have with him ALL to myself. Thanks Honey!

Once again, beautiful trip all the way home! Since we got home we have been going on a nightly drive in the Jeep, and I am loving it!!! Put me on a headband and I am good to go!!!

My first car when I turned 16 was a Jeep as well... I know aww.... It was meant to be!

I really forgot how much I loved hoppin' in the jeep and cruising around on a summer night! Listening to the best of Michael Jackson (thanks Adam) Super romantic! We are weird, in case you are new to our blog BEWARE!!!!!

St. George and Zion Nation Park

Nick and I decided at the last minute we would drive out to St. George to pick up his jeep and bring it home to Texas. We left Lubbock at 4pm on Saturday, and drove 18 hours only stopping twice for him to take a little nap! It was unbelievable! I couldn't have ever done something like that alone. Yes he was alone, because I went to sleep about normal bedtime. I was off and on but as hard as I tried, I couldn't stay up with him. Slept right through that loud music!!! It was a beautiful drive... Lots of different scenery between here and there. We made it to St. George sleepy eyed and just in time for church. I didn't even wash my hair... We made it though. It was wonderful seeing Zach, Shally, and our sweet nephew, and nieces! They are soooo precious and growing so fast! I can't believe how much they have changed this year. Cambry was holding little conversations with me. The twins are amazing and Serae the girly girl was super excited to have another "of her kind" in the house. Nick and Bray were so sweet together. And Jax, what can I say the kid is a stud! He really loves me, and he knows how to show it! He gets the award for Congeniality. He treats me like I have been a Sorensen all my life! I love you Jax! I love being your Aunt you guys! Thanks for letting us come stay the night you!

After church we changed and went to Zion. I haven't ever seen anything like it! Well on postcards!!! It was gorgeous... We all had so much fun going through all of the tunnels. We also spotted some rams, or "mountain lions" according to Zach! ;o)

We got pretty close to them as you can see...

It was a great day of family fun!

Sorry it took so long, but I am finally getting pics up of our bedroom. It was fun to do. Glad Mom in law came so I actually finished it! I know a crazy color choice, but I am just crazy like that! I love having the bright wall!!! It also just has a simple modern feel! It really seems like me!

YES... No TV!!! I know i know... I just feel like that is not what your suppose to do in your bedroom!!! I read a statistic one time about marriage and TV's... I almost died! I decided then I would never have a TV in my bedroom. I told Nick of this right when we started dating, and he was completely on board. There is so many other FUN things for the bedroom to keep you busy!!! Like reading scripture and sleeping.... ;o) ;o) :o) We like it!

I did mean to document this experience ... We had plans to go to Dallas the weekend before we went to Hawaii for a friend of Nick's birthday party. It was very fun. We got there late and it was raining, but I was still going to take pictures of everyone. It's not often that everyone is all together. I reached into my purse as soon as we got there to take a few, and it wouldn't tun on. I looked in the battery slot, and NOTHING!!! DOn't you hate that. I had it all charged up and waiting. Bummer. Someone did take a few though, and I stole them from facebook. Not super clear but better than nada. While we were in Dallas we got to sty with my friend Britni and her Hubby Dax. They have a precious little boy Rilan. He is such a stud!!! We had a great time catching up, it has for sure been a while. She told me this week that she is pregnant and it is due near my birthday! That would be great! We will see... I can't wait to meet the new little Hardage!!!

On our way out of town we had to stop at the Dallas Temple. I hadn't ever seen it before. It was beautiful! The weather wasn't so much. I wanted pictures so bad, so I rolled my jeans up and went barefoot across the lawn. I snapped a few and ran right back to the truck. I was really wet, but well worth it. We went to the DC there to stock up, and the lady that helped us was so sweet. She was a mess, but definitely made it a light-hearted good first experience for us. It was fun!

Nick left for Dallas tonight, he has a business meeting in the morning. I decided to take advantage of his time away and be a computer junkie.... Wow we are getting up there!!! Matt just celebrated his 25th Birthday this week! My Nan and I made the dinner, and we were not much of the hit of the celebration. Matt's girlfriend Edite was home in Latvia for the summer, but she flew in to surprise Matt at his party! She got there in the nick of time, I thought he was almost in tears!!! It was the best! He looked so happy! GREAT job Edite... I have never been able to keep a secret and surprise Nick with anything!!! Good for you! Hope your having a great week together after a LONG summer apart!

Lake/Fourth of July

We spent the fourth at Lake Alan Henry and Mom and Dad's place. We had hamburgers and lots of family time. It seemed like everyone enjoyed watching us all wakeboard. Wendy and Mom had lots of fun chatting...

The kids were a little hesitant of the water at first, but ended up loving it! They were little fish by the time the weekend was over.

On our way back into town, we stopped at my uncles for a firework show and another BBQ. Zach did and awesome fireworks display timed to music and all... Very impressive.

We made it back into town late and church came early, but we made it!!!

Wendy got to go visit our ward, and meet some of our neat friends.

So all weekend we basked in the sun, and laughed a lot! The pups just love it out there.

I am really glad my uncle came up for the holiday. It was so much fun with the kids there.

Mr. Noah is adorable, and Brandon is getting so big I can hardly believe it!

More on the race...

We woke up about 4:40 ouch!!! We ate a big smoothie, and headed off to the lake. It was still really dark when got there and cars were backed up all the way down the road getting to the starting line. I was really amazed how many people were there. The wind was blowing and it was raining pretty hard. I was glad I brought my jacket for sure. We were a little hesitant to take out the nice camera because of the rain, but it lightened up enough to get a few pre race pics.

I trained only on a stationary bike, Nick never did the swim once, and B has been trying to finish school, work, and be the best husband and dad. I will preface with saying that.

Nick was ready that morning to drowned

The day before the race we found a road bike that a man would let me rent. We went and bought the shoes that click in and I jumped on the bike for about five minutes and road before everyone got here for the party. Not the brightest idea in the book. Not to mention it started pouring rain when I got the chip on my ankle and the roads were slick.

It was a tough up hill climb right at the beginning. I wasn't strapped in my shoe good and my foot came out. I could hardly get on and get going on flat ground much less a 35%incline, so very angry I climbed the first hill on foot!!! I was so bummed. At the top though I got back on and was in business. I ended up with 1:20 min for my time. So if you take into consideration the fact I couldn't get on to begin with, then I came off, walked the hill, and it was pouring cats and dogs, I probably got close to my exact training time which was about 1:11. So I guess I was pleased. I saw so many people crashing and getting road rash because of the rain. I was just glad I finished with no blood.

Brandon, was a rock star he finished us up with the run in 27 min. He did great!

We had lots of fun and are ready to train for another!

Nick's Mom got here last Thursday and Brandon got here Friday. Saturday night I wanted to have a big party, to show them a good time here in the LBK. We had lots of my family and our friends there. We cooked out fajitas, and had lots of laughs. We didn't care that we had to wake up at 4:30am that next morning for the race. We ate a big meal, which probably wasn't the best thing, but lots of fun. Thanks to everyone that came and made it so great.

I am pretty sure the pups and Chloie were the life of the party!!! They were so cute. She loved them!!!

A while back we went to Lafayette for Nick and Adrienne Scelfo's wedding. What a great time we had there. It was my first time down in the Cajun neck of the woods. I loved it. His family, and everyone we met down there were so incredibly nice! It was gorgeous and green everywhere. It really wasn't nearly as hot as I thought it would be, from the stories Nick has told me about playing in Mississippi. The food was so good everywhere we went. It was great fun hanging out with all the college baseball guys. They really have a an amazing friendship that can never be broken. The groom's name is Nick, but back in college he acquired the name Crazy. Of course when I hear of this guy I am thinking the ultimate "college dude" baseball, women, and booze. I meet him and he greets me as Ms. Natalie, and sits there so politely and asks me how Nick and I met, and told us that he was soo happy for us... Confused as can be, I run back over to Nick, Wait Honey, "That is Crazy!" He said yes, he was only crazy once. He was doing the "Worm". It all made sense. He is great.

We did get to take him out the night before the wedding and see the Worm for old time sake! We had a blast. The Hawley twins were there again, Pat and his girlfriend Leah, Doty and Amber, and a few more. We spent lots of time laughing, and talking about those days of ball in college, okay maybe not all ball, but what they did when they weren't playing ball.

It was the sweetest wedding. It took place at a very old Catholic Church. It was incredible, just spectacular architecture and history. The ceremony was quite special. The reception was so much fun. We danced the night away, My Nick was the HIT!

My thoughts...

I am so thankful for my salvation. I am thankful for the sacrifice the Christ made in the garden and on the cross for me and all mankind. I am thankful that I was given my agency to choose him, and will live with him forever in eternity. I am grateful for the opportunity to be here on earth in these times, to do a great work. To lead people to the Gospel. I am humbled to feel the Lord's love and power when we choose to do the right things and follow his will.

The salon is coming along great... I keep having people ask for pictures... It is not complete yet. The electrician just left coming by for a bid on lighting. It shouldn't take all that long to finish. Nick is going to mount the poduct shelf on each station soon. This weekend will probaby be taken. I know we will be at the lake enjoying my FATHER!!!!

Nick's mom is coming to visit us for a couple of weeks... We are really excited to have her. She really is a lot of fun to be around. She is going to get to see our home for the first time, and meet the rest of my family that wasn't at the wedding. We will be at the lake a lot. We are going to be competing in a SPRINT TRI. My friend is getting married at the lake on the 3rd that I am doing everyone's hair for. My uncle is having a big 4th of July Party. We have lots to do, we have to make up for not having grandkids for her to play with! "CRAMA" is the best!!!! Someday WENDY! Just remember they will be little Nicky's, are you sure your ready?!@?!? We will have a great time I know it!

We are working on decorating our bedroom FINALLY. I just kept saying I wasn't going to do anything till I decided for sure how I wanted it!!!! I had seen a room in a magazine a long time ago that was Deep turquiose and red. I loved it... SO different! When we saw our wedding images I thought that was perfect... The lighthouse was red and white, and all the many BLUES of the ocean. I just couldn't figure out how to combine my modern taste with Nick beautiful furniture. And the beautiful painting in our vaulted ceiling. I think is is all going to look great!!! Very different which I LOVE!!!! We ordered all the images on gatorboard which looks very mod! I can't wait to see them when they get it! I also found huge REAL star fish!!! I can't wait to work with those!!!! PICS SOON! but here is the one above the bed...

Work has been crazy... CRAZY GOOD I must clarify! It has been one of the busiest summer so far ever... I am so thankful for my girls here at the Salon and all their hard work. WE really have so much fun! IS IT REALLY A JOB?!?! THANK YOU!

Baseball is over... West's team that Nick coached WON 1st place in the LEAUGE!!! He had a great season. I am so thankful that Nick took the time out of his schedule to work with him individually and coaching the team. West has been hitting homers like it's his JOB!!!! I always tell him it's the hair, and he tells me it's NICK!!! GREAT SEASON RAYS! (I do have pics to come)

Church has been wonderful. I continually get to know everyone better and better. It is such a blessing to get to share life with so many wonderful people. We have such an awesome ward! So many sweet children that brighten my day so much. They will come by the salon if they are close by, just because they want to say hi! Talk about make your day! A little one told me yesterday, "I didn't know you worked here!" I said, "Yep I do!" He started walking off and looked back at me said, "Well... Now I know where to find you!" HA I love it... SO CUTE!!!!

Kona Luau

One night Nick and I went to a Luau with the roasted pig and all! I didn't know what to think about it when they lifted it from the ground and all these flies came out with it!!! EWW They had lots of other great food. There was a coconut cake what was amazing, and lots of great salads. The show was really entertaining. The fire dancer was my favorite though. It was great getting to learn about all of the culture and history. It was at the oldest hotel in Kona, King Kimeamea. It was pretty romantic as well! I am glad that we were able to go and have a night for just the two of us!

TIME FLIES! It has just been a crazy SUMMER! It seems like it has been never ending FUN!

I need to get all caught up. I have so many things to get blogged. We have been working on the house, the salon, having parties, lots of baseball, and training for a triathlon. That sounds like a lot! Work has been crazy. I have been working late many nights. All the girls have been really busy too, which is great for summer! MUST be the new look around there! ;0) I need a whole weekend of computer time just to get it all done with all the posts I need to do! I WISH!

Hopefully, I can a little this weekend. I don't think we have a ton going on. We want to go to the lake Monday, but we should probably get all caught up instead! We will see. Just finished the Sunday School lesson... yes I know fine time to be doing it!

Adam and Emily's Wedding

It was a beautiful wedding! Jami, Adam's Step MOM, totally out did herself on the flowers. They were beautiful. I loved getting to help her.

It was CRAZY hot in Austin already, but I guess that's why the yard was gorgeous ! It was the sweetest wedding having the close family there.

I was there for like 5 hours helping Jami, and just about when I was done we had a little accident. I was picking up a vase that was going on

the sign in table and it shattered in my hand and cut my finger really bad... I was worried that I needed stitches, but I was about to put Emily's

hair up. I wrapped it in gauze and duck tape and did her hair with NINE fingers and one throbbing. It turned out great. She loved it, that's

all that matters. Corrie, her Bridesmaid, is one of my clients. I actually did her hair for her wedding before I even knew that her and Emily were

friends. It worked out, she was going to have me do her hair for the wedding any how. She is such a sweetie. The wedding went perfect, and

everyone was in tears. We had a really fun dinner afterwards. I am so happy for these two!

(also this is the first time to shoot the NEW CAM) Not too bad! It was really fun, and no editing. I have a long way to go!

Matty's Graduation

Lost to catch up on but I am going to try to stay in order. My wonderful brother graduated from college this month! YES he is a stud muffin.... Was and always will be .... But NOW with a college degree! We are so very proud of him and his dedication to sticking it out even after basketball was well over. There couldn't have been a more proud sister there that day. I had been with him through the ups and downs and it was really neat to see him reach a goal that he thought at many times was unattainable! HE DID IT. I have always known he could do anything that he set his mind to. He is brilliant, and has so many great qualities to be admired. I love him no matter what he does, but when you see him succeeding your heart just swells out of your chest. My family all feels the same way, my parents got him a stellar car as a graduation gift. As if he wasn't already good looking enough, just imagine him pulling up in a black 7 series BMW and stepping out in linens with his shades. One word HOT! Yes, I am proud to say he is a Hottie! Watch out ladies...

The best part though, he has the sweetest heart to go along with those outward looks. I am probably not the best at expressing my feelings towards him. You know two really close brothers and sisters give each other a hard time 98% of the time. We both have a pretty good sense of humor. I love that, but sometimes you don't get the chance to be serious long enough to really share how you feel!

I have an amazing brother, and he is so many things that I am not. Many times growing up I think we compared ourselves to one another because it was just the two of us. I always wanted to be like him. You know skinny and all... No I am playing. He possesses many qualities that I admired over the years. He is very compassionate, caring, gentle, thoughtful of people's feelings, a great listener, and most of all a great friend. He has always been one of my best! I remember when we were little we didn't care about having any other friends besides one another. We always wanted each others full attention! I have so many great memories.

I love you Matty, thank you for always being there for me, and loving me when I am unlovable... I am a super proud and so blessed to be able to call you my brother. I know you will do great things in your life, and will touch many peoples lives for the good. I look forward to growing up, maturing, and being able to become closer everyday. I have accepted the fact that I'll never be skinnier than you, or as good at wake boarding as you, or as good at making anyone laugh. Most of all I will never beat you in any kind of video game no matter how much you try to let me win (so i might keep playing) ;o) I am OKAY with all of that! I am GLAD you are! You thought I'd never say it!

Revelation and a Living Prophet

Chapter 16

From the Life of Joseph Smith

Following this conference, the Prophet recalled, “my time was occupied closely in reviewing the commandments and sitting in conference, for nearly two weeks; for from the first to the twelfth of November we held four special conferences. In the last … the conference voted that they prize the revelations to be worth … the riches of the whole earth.” The conference also declared that the revelations are “the foundation of the Church in these last days, and a benefit to the world, showing that the keys of the mysteries of the kingdom of our Savior are again entrusted to man; and the riches of eternity [are] within the compass of those who are willing to live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

God has always guided His people and His Church through revelation.

“Salvation cannot come without revelation; it is in vain for anyone to minister without it. … No man can be a minister of Jesus Christ except he has the testimony of Jesus; and this is the spirit of prophecy [see Revelation 19:10]. Whenever salvation has been administered, it has been by testimony. Men of the present time testify of heaven and hell, and have never seen either; and I will say that no man knows these things without this.”7

The President of the Church conveys the word of God to us for our day and generation.

My Testimony,

I am so thankful that God calls men to be Prophets. I know that he has a plan for everyone, and each child of God are to follow prophecies. I am very thankful that I may pray and receive revelation and conformation that these things are of the Lord and not of man. He hears your prayers, and will answer you. I can feel the Holy Spirit confirm to me that it is truth. The Lord will overtake you with peacfullness. I am also thankful that I am able to seek the Lord for direction in my own life. He will reveal to me exactly what I am suppose to do. Where, what, and how I am going to do something. He is always by your side, when you call upon him he is there to guide you. I feel very blessed to have a TRUE prophet here on earth today.

I just sold all of the current Salon furniture to one lady. YIPPEEE. They are coming to pick it all up Saturday Night when we close! Whew... what a relief. One less thing to worry about. Not to mention I got decent money for it all. It is still good stuff. I don't know how many clients this week have said, I don't see anything wrong with what you have. There isn't really, but I just want something more MODERN! I can't have my house all black, so it is my outlet! I am not sure what they are planning on doing with it, but I think it will make for a great salon. I am keeping one station and chair for my personal use. I am not ever going to be an at home stylist it's just not my thing, but I will do my family!!! I can't wait for this weekend to hurry and get here!!! I have been waiting over 4 years for the day I could have all NEW STUFF!!!! It is here and worth every minute of working hard to accomplish this goal!

i JUST FOUIND OUT THAT THE SALON FURNITURE WILL BE DELIVERED TOMORROW AFTERNOON! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT! The plan is to unpack tomorrow once it arrives. Saturday after we close we are going to pack up everything and haul it off somewhere. The floor guys are coming in late Sat. night to do the refinish. This should be completeley done my Monday morning, then we get to have the real fun!!!! Setting up, rearranging, and seeing the FINISH PRODUCT!!!!! I just know I am going to love it!!!!

Also last night I was studying some scriptures, and felt convicted to start something new. Since we teach primary, I don't get to learn all of the releif society leasson from Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith. I loved learning each lesson when I was a RS teacher in the branch. I know that I will gain lots of knowledge. I am going to start where I left off, and study one lesson each week. To keep me accountable I am going to blog each week on what I learned from the lesson, and share thoughts and scriptues. Not only will it help me grow, but hopefully all my blog readers will get something out of it too!!! Whether a memeber of Our Church or of any other faith I feel like something will apply to you. If you don't want to read it, then just skip over post called "Lesson Learned by Newbie Natalie"

Tonight went really well. We had a couple from our ward over for dinner. They just had their first baby about three months ago... She is still so tiny and so sweet. She's precious! We made Grilled Chicken Pesto and Artichoke Rigatoni as the main dish. We had a green salad with Strawberry Balsamic Dressing homemade, Rep Pepper french bread, and the Famous Jello salad for dessert. It was great getting to know this sweet family a little better. Thank You for Cummings! (that's their name)

Today we got lots done. I met a gal from first ward today at the gym. It seemed like we really hit it off. I definitely want to get together with them soon! Her husbands is in his residency here. Her in I have lots in common. We talked for probably half an hour. Thanks Jill.

We bought all sort of plants and flowers and we got them all planted, and Nick got them fertilized. We went with purples of course :0) and a little lime green plant. They really aren't looking that great yet... I might give them a week or so before taking any pictures! It was such a pretty day though, I am glad I got to get some sun! Even if it was bent over digging in the earthworms.

We had an amazing day at church. My friend Anna went with us. She is just so stinking cool! I am so glad that she is a part of my life these days. She makes me want to be a better person! You can't help but just love her she is soo sweet!

After church we hurried home and ate some left over Spicy Pasta YUMMY! I made Iced Sugar Cookies from scratch. Frosting and all! That was a first for me. I am trying to use that kitchen aid whenever I can. (Thanks Annie) I made the frosting purple because K State was having a great weekend against Texas, which is BIG. They turned out really good! I was proud. We took them over to the couples home that is teaching out Temple Prep class. There was only few of us there for our meeting, so we took the ones left over to my parents house they only live two streets down. I grew up with this families boys at the neighborhood pool. They were so gracious to have us over, and help us catch up on material. We are going to the temple before the class was suppose to end, and they were great to help make it work! We have really learned a lot, and we are really excited. We feel ready.

As soon as we walked in the door Nick changed and we left for Emily and Adam's Shower. It was their couple shower, and it was so much fun! They got lots of great stuff and the hostesses did a wonderful meal, treats, and drink. It was at a great house with an awesome outdoor living area with a TV screen mounted. That means we got to keep up with the Draft a little while we were watching the present opening. We are excited for them. The plans have sort of changed because of Keith's situation. They are getting married in Austin May 6th. We are going down Tues. night when I get finished at work, and coming home Thursday night. Everyone just has great attitudes, and are just rolling with the flow. I am proud of them, and can't wait to spend this really exciting day with the two of them. I love them both!

We came home tired, but knew we couldn't take a nap or we wouldn't be able to fall asleep tonight! We worked out on our flower beds in the front yard. We are going to try and plant some stuff tomorrow. Wish us luck, Nick and I do NOT have green thumbs! We are just going for PURPLE and ALIVE! Anything would be an improvement at this point!

WEDDINGS, PROM, AND MORE PROM!

Today work was crazy. I LOVE doing hair for special events. You get to be super creative, and people feel really beautiful getting all dressed up! I have got to meet a lot of the high school girls from church lately, and they have wanted me to do their hair for prom. They are super cute. They are totally open to let me do whatever, and I love that! It makes my job really fun...

I also got the pleasure of doing my favorite client today... NOT! He is an older guy that really makes me uneasy feeling. I wish I could tell him not to come back anymore, but he really hasn't done anything to warrant that. It's just that I don't get a good feeling from him. STRANGE. I just try to treat him as if it were any other client. Last time I had Nick come up to the the salon during his appt, but he still came back!

One of my friends I grew up with, was in her little sisters wedding tonight. I go to do a few of the bridesmaid do's. They had great hair so that was easy. They looked STUNNING.

After work Nick and I got to meet my uncle for Dinner at a fabulous Cajun restaurant. Nick loves that kind of food. He played college ball with a guy from Louisiana who's mom would make gumbo, freeze it, and ship it to them. Then he played pro ball in Mississippi, so he is a huge fan. The guy who owns the restaurant came to Lubbock when Katrina hit, and never went back. It is a great little place downtown topped off with live Jazz on the weekends and all. I don't even know how to explain what Nick got... a stuffed chicken with cream sauce. I had a chicken and sausage pasta with a creole red sauce. It was amazing. We had a great time chatting. We are really enjoying the family time we have got to spend with my uncle. This week we celebrated the 3 year anniversary of my aunt passing away. I feel like he is really doing well. I am proud of him. He is enjoying life, and doing so much for himself to stay active. What more could you ask for?!?!

Speaking of active news today that Nick's oldest brother Brandon, is coming to the BIG LBK at the end of June to compete in the Buffalo Lake Triathlon. Nick entered today as well. I am trying to decide if my Dad and I are going to enter the team one or individually. I know that I can do it alone, but then again I think it would be great to complete it Daddy/Daughter too for our first time. We will see. THE TRAINING BEGINS! WAHOO

Also my sweet new friend is coming to church with us in the morning, and I am super excited. She is amazing. We already feel like we have known each other for a long time. She showed up to the salon today, and brought me a Sonic Lemonade! It was such a crazy day I hadn't eaten or anything so it was a pleasant treat. Her boyfriend is a seasoned triathlete, so I think he will be able to help us out. I think he is actually going to compete himself as well. We were joking today that we thought Will, Nick, and Brandon should swap the all spandex "traditional triathlon" outfit in for a matching thong... Hey they might win because they will definitely be distracting the other in the race!!! ;o) I won't do a picture for that one! hehe

Mother's Day

I just got done ordering my mom's Mother's day present... I am super excited. Hope she likes it as much as I do. I can't say what it is because she is a reader. Everyone will have to wait to see what it is too!

Everyone better get on your Mom's gift. It is a perfect day to show Mommy's how important they are in your life! They do a lot for us you know. We should have more than just one day I think. I might work on getting that to happen when I am a Mom.

A day of pampering every quarter, I know all Mom's could use those! :o)

May 10th is the BIG day, and sadly enough we will be in Dallas. We will have to celebrate early.

I HATE Computers....

So here is how it goes.. I have owned my Salon for 4 YEARS now. When I bought the salon it had a computer already there. I replaced it shortly after. It was not the nicest computer, but it worked. It had so many problems. Knowing it was on its last leg I constantly thought of how I needed to get and external hard drive and get the software backed up! Well I didn't...
It was shot we lost everything. Client info, purchases, inventory, really everything!!!! I had tons and tons of work getting back up and running. Of course I was able to invest in a really nice computer. Of course I am a mac girl, but the salon software isn't MAC compatible. I ended up with a high end HP nice big flat screen monitor and all.

I walked into work yesterday and nothing the screen wouldn't turn on. The mouse or keyboard wasn't working. I freaked. Of course having the brand new NICE computer, i had not gone and got the external hard drive (even after hours and hours of work). I knew that meant BAD NEWS. Nick came up and looked at it, and tried all the things that I had, but still nothing.

I called Matt, because he is my computer dude, and he said try one thing if it doesn't work you out of luck.

We tried it... of course it didn't work. I am super excited about trashing a 4 month old computer, and go buy a new one. NOT
By the grace of God, we were able to take the hard drive out of the HP tower and put it into the new Dell ( yes of course I wouldn't go back to HP again) Who knows it may have just been a fluke... A power surge or something else.

As of this morning we are back up and running, and tickets, clients,product, transactions recorded. We have a nice new computer for the new salon coming next week! Not the best timing, but I am so glad to have my records all in tact. It is a business owners worst nightmare to be all electronic, and a virused PC...

We did here from the furniture company, and the stations, styling chairs, shampoo units, dryers, color trolleys, my office desk, should all be here end of next week. I cannot hardly wait. I just know everything is going to look AMAZING. I will have to do before and after pictures. Hopefully May 5th we will be up and running in the NEW SALON! I have a LOT to be thankful for!

Update my treat making.. I missed out on posting the picture of the cake I made for our primary classes birthday. Four were all in a two week period, so we held out and celebrated all. I got this amazing butterfly cake pan as a wedding gift and finally got to use it. I didn't do a very good job decorating it, but there with be many more!

The others are my little nests! I ended up making 125 of these little things, on top of making lots of other stuff for our easter meal! They turned out good, everyone seemed to like them. I changed the base to a no bake cooking, but left out the cocoa because I am not a fan of chocolate. Everyone ate them... We came home with ZERO which was a blessing!

I think the kids had lots of fun eating them! So did all of my family!

Now that was a Family Home Evening. Nick and I had the sweetest couple over. Anna and Will. She works with our Bishop at Tech... He said she had some questions about the church, and thought I would be perfect for them. So I called her and invited them over for Dinner

Then I did a Rosemary Turkey Tenderloin, Vinaigrette Spinach Salad, and Corn

Our Dinner guests were hunters and fisherman, so they really loved the elk (Nick says, they will get invited back now!)
We had the greatest conversation about life, religion, and people. They guys we out front playing fetch with the dogs. There is nothing better than getting to share what you believe with someone who is interested!
I am really excited to get to know them better.

I do have to brag on the wife. I think she is in the lead for the teachers pet of our new Temple Prep class. She is always excited to share in class which I know teachers always love. She gave a great example today comparing being saved to following the gospel as close as you can. She was explaining that we are saved by grace but through our works we will be glorified. In her mind she came up with the story that I thought was pretty deep. She compared following the gospel to going through the motions in our faith by stating that the gospel is liken unto a parking meter. Sure you can still get into heaven through Grace by parking down the street without paying the meter but she would rather be parked on the first row closest to the building no matter what the cost. I would have made a comment about it in class but I have a tendency to use sarcasm a little too much and everybody including Natalie would not have believed me if I would have made a positive comment about it. So I have to compliment her on this so she knows that I appreciate her thoughts and comments. This past 18 months watching her testimony and faith in the gospel grow has been such an amazing experience in my life. She is a rock and it has truly made me so much stronger in my own beliefs. Thank you so much. Happy 1 year Baptism Anniversary. He He. I Love You SO Much. Thank You for being you!!!!!

HAIL STORM and much more....

One lovely thing about West Texas is Tornadoes! With T-Storms comes funnel clouds and HAIL.... We got him pretty hard on Thursday. I would try to post the video, but I don't know how! It came down for a while it was pilled in the yard. Nick's trucks to big to go in the garage, so it just got beat up which isn't fun at all. I guess that is just part of it. It was hilarious watching him run out and try to save the truck. He was trying to put blankets all over it! It was funny to see him risking getting hit in the head or slipping and falling, to get it covered. I don't blame him, but I wasn't about to go out there! Ee also got some pics with the puppies that I really loved so I added those in too!

On another note we started our Temple prep class today, and the spirit was VERY PRESENT! I was almost in tears the whole meeting. I am really excited about what is going to take place in this next month! I talked to Jessica later today, and she pointed out for me... anytime you are doing ORDINANCE work it becomes a very personal emotional thing. It as if I a revisiting all those emotions I felt at the Baptism and Conformation time a year ago. It is really amazing, I feel my testimony growing and growing. I love that. I feel so blessed to be in the Ward that we are with al of the amazing people that love and care about us. Everyone has just been so encouraging and giving of their time. We have people that volunteered to take care of our class while we are going to the temple class. I have been reading lots of material and scripture in preparation. I have really been learning a lot. I want to be as ready as possible, so I may be able to take it all in and learn what My Heavenly Father would have me too. I don't want anything holding me back from being exactly where he wants me to.

Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

I want to be in the light. I want my mind to be fixed on spiritual things. I want to walk so closely with the Lord that I am able to have him teach me continually what he would have me to do. Lead my every step! Rely on his strength to help me through challenges and sufferings.

I have had the opportunity to meet a girl who works as a secretary to our bishop in his actual earthly job. She is a tech student and she it one year younger than me. She is somewhat interested in the Church. We have only talked a little, but she seems AMAZING. I cannot wait for our friendship to continue... I hope that I am able to help her in anyway possible. Her and her boyfriend are coming over for dinner tomorrow night. Im excited!

Also tonight at 7pm we are trying to get everyone to stop and say a prayer for the Beasley Family. We need to pray for Keith's healing, and also strength for his precious wife, and other family members. If you could join us that would be great!!!!

New Hobby

I have always had a passion for photography! I love pictures, and always have. I like to remember big life events and all the little things in between! The best way to look back at life and be thankful for all your experiences is to have photo albums and scrapbooks. I also love to be on the computer from internet surfing and learning about all kinds of different things, to messing with photo editing, and blogging.

I am now going a step further... I have been researching Digital SLR cameras for months now. I have wanted one since the very first digital rebel came out! Every holiday that was what I wanted somehow it never all worked out! I guess there was something I decided I needed more. I don't know. The time has come though...

I am going to become a HOBBY PHOTOGRAPHER! I think I will hold out for the NEW rebel it is a 15.1 Megapixel and has HD video capabilities, and is suppose to be launched to purchase in a few weeks.

I did a ton of research on lenses! I have read , read, and read some more! I ended up deciding on an L series... I took the plunge. It was the best all around lens. I don't want a bag full of nice lenses. I just wanted one great lens! I got it on ebay at a great price. I took the risk, but it got here PERFECTLY and registered it on Canon so it is totally legit! WHEW! I can't wait to start learning all about it! I have a long way to go I know. I am excited about the new challenge!

My Husband told me I need to step up on my blogging I have been slacking!!!!
We have had a lot going on... The accident, Easter, Preparing for the Temple and Hawaii...
Not trying to make excuses but that has been time consuming! Nick had my camera when he was in AUSSIE, so I couldn't Photo my things I did without him... I'm not a huge fan of blogging without pictures... It's boring for me and you...

I will do my best to step it up a notch! The issue of knowing where I wanted my blog to be has been a burden as well I LOVE the Mac blog it's so easy, and I love how it can just look like a webpage and be a webpage with a web address, but I can't get my posting to sync with google reader, and that's where all the blog world knows if you have updated. I guess I have gone back and will link to mac blog for postings that are very detailed and have lots of photos for example vacations and such! I will join the two for my BLURB book. It's almost like you can't wait for the year to be over so you can get your book!!!!!

Nick, My brother, Adam, and a few other guys headed to Austin Thursday. I woke to a scary phone call from Nick at 6:30 yesterday morning. He told me what had happen, and kept me posted all day. Keith is Adam's Fiance's brother. With many peoples prayers being answered, Keith is surviving. Little by little getting word of good news. The doctors say the first 24-78 hours are most critical.

Keith is married, and they are expecting their first baby in a few weeks.

1 cup marshmallows (baby bird measures and adds to melted butter, Mama bird stirs until melted smooth, then removes from heat)

I am going to attempt to make theses goodies for all the primary kids for Easter Sunday... I think that deserves an easter dress Nicky! lol That's FAIR!

I saw them on a freinds blog and just thought they we too cute! When I was a kid I always loved eating food that looked like something other than what it really was! We will give it a whirl!
On top of those 100+ treats, I am doing Strawberry Spinach Salad, Jello Fruit Nut Salad, and Devilled eggs for my family's easter Lunch. All while Nick is on his way back from Austin. Adam's Bachelor Party is his weekend! Hard to beleive... my first brother to get married! They will have fun that's for sure!

My hubby has been in Australia for two whole weeks, and i am missing him like crazy!!! the Dogs have kept me busy and lots of company, but there is nothing like the love and companionship a husband gives.
I tell Nick everything... He always is a great listener.
I love being able to cook together and eat dinner.
I love waking up next to him every morning.
I love texting each other all day little love notes.
I love snuggling on the couch.
I love going to the park and watching the pups chase my amazingly fast hubby.
I love the way he smells... yees all the time.
I love the way it feels when he hugs me really tight.
I love that he always knows when something is wrong with me.
I love that we want the exact same things out of life...
I love that he actually loves hanging out with me.. some men love to have guy time.
I love that he loves his mom, and makes such an effort to make her feel loved by him. ( that is a great trait in a man)
I love that he is so amazing with kids ( it really makes me want to reproduce) I am being patient though
I love that he is so patient to teach me things... He understands that i want to learn but it might take a while
I love that he makes me laugh! he did three times today really hard and i bet we talked a total of 15 min all day!
i love that he picks me up like i am a little bitty thing (thats been a life long dream) i haven't ever been little
I love that he will always give me a back massage if i ask... on that note he will do anything for me if i ask
I love that he designates a time night that we can have some quiet scripture study time.
I love that he is such a great leader and it makes others around him want to be better people
I love that he hates to sit around. We always like to be doing things.
I love that he is the BEST GRILLER in the world... I have really missed that while he was gone
i love how he thinks about everyone before himself!
I love that he takes such great care of me.
I love that he drops by to see me at work and brings me surprises!!! I feel super LOVED!
I love that he pays our bills starting in jan... I love not thinking about when something is due... I have enough at the Salon.
I love how passionate he is about us playing on some sort of team together even though i told him i wouldn't be any good.
I love how he sees things and makes them happen that i never thought we imaginable. We balance each other out so well.

Holly's Bachelorette party is tonight which would be lots and lots of fun!!!! I know it will be. We have lots of fun things planned, and we actually have kept some a surprise! I think that is a feat in itself!!! Holly is a planner and a girl to take control and get the job done!!! She was able to sit back and let us do it all... so we are proud of here. I hope she has a great time.. I know that she is excited!!! I will post on all the details after tonight!

The Nitty Gritty

I was on track before the holiday's took me by storm.... In my mind the Holiday's last from November through Valentine's... You know the Nick's Bday, Christmas, New Years, Birthday, Vday and all our anniversaries in between. It was just Nuts. I am kicked back into gear. The BodyBugg on my arm, and the new iphone I downloaded the App called Lose It. The app is a food journal/calories counter/exercise log. I am really loving it! I have lost 2 lbs. so far. I will keep everyone posted... I think it's all because of Biggest Looser I really love the show!!! It is a great motivator. Nick has been going to the gym with me too this week! He is SUPER SORE. It's no fun starting back over. I have stayed consistent on my workouts just not my eating...
So here is for a NEW START!

Norstrom Rack was great.... We found the Seven's that are Nick's Favorite Cut. We got him to pair of those for 150 off... Can't beat it... We found a great Robert Graham shirt for 40. The another while wrinkle free Nordstrom brand like the ones he wears every Sunday. Then we went old school and got him some Lucky's like he always use to wear in college he said were his fav, just to wear around!
I had made a list of things I wanted before I left....

I got a pair of sevens a little big, and with tons of stretch for Maternity... yes you heard me right... Hopefully it won't be too far away... You really can't pass up the Rack prices... You must plan ahead. I got another pair of Rock and Republics just like the ones I wear all the time, but with a button flap pocket. I love em. For those of you that know me, you know I love turtlenecks, always have.. they keep me all covered no worries. Last year I had gotten several from The Rack that held up great! When we went this time they had the same ones just a little longer in length... which is good for a bump too. They were TEN bucks!!! I got a hot pink, purple, and black.

Then the next day we went to the outlet mall. We went straight to Nike, and they had all my fav's I got

People ask why you would spend a lot on gym clothes. I just think it is part of it for me if I feel good comfy and cute .. I get motivated and I have a great workout!!! All that stuff washes great and lasts forever!!!!

Then to the sunglasses Nick has been telling me forever to get nice sunglasses that fit my face nice, and they will last forever. I was a buy 3 ten dollar pair every season and always loose and break them. I have never used a sunglass case. I am just really not that great at utilizing any case!!! Just ask Nick. I have looked and looked and looked. I just really didn't think there was a pair of shades that I felt like fit and looked good enough to justify so much money. We had gotten a gift card as a wedding present to a mall in Utah. We had that, and needed to use it while we were there! So Nick said go to a mall where you can use it , and look for shades. I went straight to a Sunglass Hut knowing that if I did change my mind I could take them bck in Lubbock, and get all the money back. Wendy, my MIL was with me, and she is like having a cheerleader just for you to hang out with all day. Every pair that I tried on she would say, "Those look good!" Then occasionally we would laugh at those monster big glasses that like GOGGLES! They are really getting big now!!! It's halarious! I finally tried on a pair that I really liked... I thought just get them you can always get a refund, and you need to use the giftcard. Nick was waiting outside for us. I bought them... Never in my life would I have thought I would have spent that much money on sunglasses. But I really think that I will enjoy them. It hardly feels like you have any on!

I think that was all we got... It was SUPER FUN

Hunting Channel or Sports Center... but he will watch anything I want to....

Hot tamales... he won't touch them.. and they are one of my fav!!! I can hog them all....

Anything that he hasn't tried before or sounds really weird. He isn't a habit eater like me!!! and a water.

Highland in Salt Lake City

No idea. 11

t shirts!!!! we have at least a couple hundred!!!! NO LIE!

Any with lots of SAUCES!!!!

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
PIE and Cookie dough

10. What is his favorite cereal?
He will eat any kind but, he just told me he doesn't much prefer the texture of a mini wheat. I thought that was cute!

11. What would he never wear?
a white speedo on the beach OHH WAIT HE DID THAT ALREADY!!!! Nick would wear or shall I say NOT WEAR anything!!!!

12. What is his favorite sports team?
He says he doesn't really have a favorite... More just players, and in baseball they always switch around.

13. Who is his best friend?
ME!!!

14. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
leave the lights on... ;o( I am really trying

15. What is his heritage?
It can be traced back all the way to the early church... HE told me this Sunday. We should work on my family heritage since his it all done!!! Well woohoo for you!!!! Glad I am now a Sorensen!!!!

16. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
No idea. Probably chocolate cake with raspberry filling and white icing?!?! He wouldn't touch it... now for this man on his birthday you would make a pie , and hope to get a slice yourself!

17. Did he play sports in high school?
Yes, football, baseball, and rugby.

18. What could he spend hours doing?
On the phone... texting 5 diff people, and watching hunting shows all at the same time... or hang out with me....

19. What is one unique talent he has?
the butt dance for those that have seen, it is unique and very talented!!! He can stay on beat to Trans Siberian Orchestra... does it get any better than that??!?!

20. Does he prefer to drive an automatic or stick shift?
He has an automatic diesel Dodge MOnster, and a stick Jeep so i guess just depends on the car.

21. Given a free trip anywhere in the world, where would he choose to go?
New Zealand. He talks about it... I would say at least once a week!

22. If you spend a lot of money on a special gift for him, he would like...
A new Bow that he wants. Not for his hair those of you who were thinking he would! ;o)

23. Is he near-sighted, far-sighted, or neither?
He had laser surgery and can see great now.

24. If he had to choose a different occupation, what would it be?
To change the world somehow, to work at changing peoples lives worldwide... What that would be.. This is yet to be determined!!!!

25. What is most attractive about him to you?
First off his humor... NIck is the funniest guy.... Also how he is so selfless, always a quality I wanted to posses, but never was able to even get close. Nick is genetically SICK.... He doesn't have to do much at all for every part of his body to look good... I guess you would say I am one LUCKY girl!!!! The man will go in public in whitey tightys need I say more!!! He has got it going ON!!!!!!!
